the synagogue is located in the italian museum and both are worth seeing. the museum's collection is under glass and shown in detail on video screens. the design and workmanship are superb. the synagogue, which i attended on purim, is beautiful.

Still in use, though I'm told people have cusions on the impossible benches during services.

If you are planning visit in the Italian center in Jerusalem, go and see the synagogue. it's decoration is beautiful originally brought from Italy. Also on the entrance floor, there's a chamber with painted ceiling exactly like in the Vatican, really beautiful, worth visiting there. It's not a big place, but if you have time and near by, go there.

The synagogue and museum present Italian Jewish items that are quite amazing, beautiful and interesting. I only wish they had a coffee table book for sale, because you weren't allowed to take pictures.
