If you are travelling to Tehran and you don't not have too much time for sight-seeing, Museum of Crown jewels is the only place that you should not miss. Confronting so many well-decorated jewleries and crowns will extremely surprise you! this museum stnds as high as the tower of London and Topkapi palace in Istanbul. more

Located on Firdousi street, a 15 minute walk from Imam Khomeini Metro Station, the Jewels Treasury is housed in a dimly lit basement of a bank building (not really sure if it belongs to the Iranian Central Bank or Bank Melli Iran, as the entrance Gate is between the 2 bank buildings. It's open for viewing only from 2 pm... more

As the previous reviewer states, everything must be turned in to the officials' booth near the entrance - passports, cameras, phones, bags - everything. Also - don't linger and be the last out because the booth shuts promptly at 16:30 with all your belongings in it. The vault is under the main branch of Bank Melli on Ferdosi Street in... more

The National Jewels treasury is a Unique experience in itself.... Seeing diamonds,Ruby's,emeralds.. gold..... from the time of nadir shah in the 1700's and even before...to the time of the last king of the Pahlavi dynasty shah... for me it was like a sweet dream,u can not estimate how much the jewels worth!billions and billions ,cause i don't know greater than billion!!!! i never seen something like this in other countries. more
