shopping is more on the high end here, with the exception of a few shops, but the area has an excellent amosphere.. lots of cafes and restaurants as well
Great place all year round. It has most of the popular stores, in an open, but covered mall. It's nice just to stroll around if you have nothing else to do. They offer special entertainment throughout the year and often host special events as well.
The Beirut Souks is a major commercial district in Beirut Central District. With over 200 shops and a department store, it is Beirut's largest shopping area. Has both high-end stores/restaurants and lower end stores/restaurants.
Beirut Souks are veru mych worth visiting, however it is so well done and the shops are so exquisite that it does not feel local. You have all the brands that you find in he world, luxury, middle road etc... but lebanon is not only about that !!
Sadly in the aftermath of the last troubles in Beirut large areas containing the old markets were bought by a big property tycoon who levelled the whole area quickly and quite ruthlessly built rather souless blingy tourist shops in some parts and rented to all the top chains, Prada, Chanel etc in the other. the place and atmosphere there is Amazing you can find whatever you want from shops to restaurants, supermarket simply everything Amazing
There are interesting trinkets to purchase, people are generally friendly. Lebanese people are very welcoming.
