If you've come to Oman, there's a high probability you like the forts. Even if it's difficult to squeeze too many of them in a limited itinerary, try not to drop out Jabrin fort. Although it doesn't contain an extensive exhibition like Nizwa fort and overall furnishings are thin (limited to a few cushions and old rifles hanging from the... More

This Fort is well preserved and the hand painted timber ceilings are incredible! We were offered a taste of Qawa (coffee) on arrival and enjoyed this fort

The desert location was amazing - very well restored. It was very, very hot and this was still not the height of summer. A sunshade would have been very useful!

As a LEGO and Minecraft fan, this fort was very inspiring. The fort showed its traps, and there was also such thing as a 'Whisper room', with thick walls and a small window. Very worthwhile. Entree Fee: 500Bzs/person

This is my favourite out of the 3 including Nizwa fort and Nakhal fort. A labyrinth of rooms and passages with a great view of the valley. The nicest restoration (with discreet lighting).

Fascinating view into 17th Century Life in Oman. Just a wonderful castle, much more complex than I thought it would be.

Although the interpretation left something to be desired, the fort was a great place to explore. Some very good ceiling painting. The entry clerk made us coffee and fed us delicious dates from the palms nearby.

A bit far away from Muscat but can be tied in with a visit to Al Hamra, Al-Hoota Caves, Nizwa or Jebel Shams for an over night.
