We were really looking forward to visiting this fort, which had been renovated and was supposed to house an exhibition of traditional costumes. But it was closed! Like a lot of the sites on our list. What a disappointment. The best thing you can say for the fort at present is that is one of the few parts of old...

very nice hang-out, very clean the whole place, fresh air and feel safe at all times
Nice, but remote location that is close to the sea and away from most civilization Not much left of the ruins themselves. But, they make for a good photo opportunity.
It's fairly easy to fit this sight into your sightseeing as it's just a few minutes walk from Souq Waqif... but it's just a big white building that looks like a fort. Yep, great photo opportunity but not much else really.
Disappointingly closed for renovations ;-(
It is located at the end of Souk Waqif. I hope one day it does open to tourists as well as Qataris. The Qatari government needs to see the potential for historic sights for tourism.
In fact our concierge at the W Hotel in Doha told us there is no such place, that there aren't...
