Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

There is little or no information in English and even to find a mission statement in Spanish was problematic. Anyway this modern structure on a former lot of the Central Cemetery is in memory of the victims of Colombia's internal conflict during the last 70 years. I understood all victims from both sides of the conflict are commemorated. A staggering number of six million people is the estimate of the center.

Completed in 2013 the building also served to celebrate 200 years of Colombia's independence. The architect made quite an effort to make the design and realization process of the building participatory. For instance 2000 people from different parts of the country brought soil and memorabilia to the construction site. 2012 tubes containing individual messages were inserted into the monolith wall.

Meanwhile 3 years after a peace accord with one of the parties (Farc) in the conflict was reached, the killings have not stopped. InSight reports 500 social leaders and activists and more than 130 demobilized guerillas were assassinated during the last three years. I tried to find a reference to these new victims at the center, but could not find any.

This should be a stop on every tourist's itinerary after the Botero and Gold Museum. They have an app that guides you through the exhibitions with some English explanations. I had an educational chat with a displaced victim and walked through several moving temporary exhibitions. For anyone interested in contemporary Latin American history, this is the place to go.

this is not a very "touristy" destination. it is rather a politically loaded venue. i personally value such venues more than the others as they offer you alternative perceptions of a culture.
