If you have time to spare and are lucky enough to get good weather in Bogota, get up to Mount Monserrate. The view is worth it, you get a good overview over the crowded city and the surroundings. Visit the church (do not go on a weekend, simply too crowded) but do not fall into the traps and insecurity of... More

I really enjoyed this place. The train ride up the incredibly steep mountainside was exhilarating and the views were terrific. The gardens were beautiful, just full of colorful flowers and singing birds. It was definitely a welcoming oasis amidst the chaotic bustle of Bogota. Try the Santa Clara restaurant here. You won't be dissapointed!

Sweeping vistas of southern and central Bogota. The area is very well kept. Be prepared for chilly temps with frequent misty rain.

Make sure to go up the teleferico on a good, bright day. It really isn't worth it to visit Monserrate on a rainy day, unless you're a religious visitor to the Church of Monserrate. Stop by the Santa Clara restaurant for traditional chocolate santafereño or go for dinner at San Isidro Restaurant.

What can I say about the experience other than to say that it is absolutely breath-taking...partially from the spectacular view atop a mountain overlooking all of Bogotá and partially from the chilly weather. I've seen awe-inspiring vistas in my travels but this might just be my favorite. Bonus Tip: Feeling a little altitude sickness? Go get yourself some coca tea... More

Nice place to visit, great view. Beware that host/hostess fo restaurants at the top are a bit of a problem when it comes to assigning a table if you come alone for lunch.

Wow... All I have to say. Te views from the top of this mountain were amazing. A must see! Do not walk up Monserrate during the week if your a tourist, only locals do during the week,, it's kind of dangerous, but there;s plenty of security during the weekend!
