The Metro is excellent, cheap and easy to use once you know how! Machines have an English option, choose single trip then the button with the letter of the alphabet of where you want to go, this displays all stations starting with that letter, choose that then how many tickets, it will then tell you how much to put in... We travelled quite a bit with the metro in Seoul. We bought a T-money card, and I recommend this to everyone who plans to stay more than 2 days in Seoul (it's pretty much like the Oyster card in the UK or the octopus card in Hong Kong). The transfer and exit signs are very clearly marked, you just have... More

The only way to travel around the city. Get a map online. All the signs are in English, just make sure you remember what exit you used to get in or out of the subway, and there could be up to 12 exits..

I live in Seoul and have to admit that the Subway is the ONLY way to get around Seoul in the afternoon traffic! OK, I have to admit that my motorcycle is often faster, but most don't have motorcycles! I do have a car and will take it ONLY IF I know that 1) there is parking available where I... More

We were apprehensive to start with about finding instructions in English. Our fears were misplaced - there are English signs and announcements all over the place. Trains run on time. Plenty of stations on the network to take you close to wherever you want. Ticket vending machines work without glitches.

cheap way to go around Seoul. and if you can not read Korean, this is the way to go since the buses are not labeled in english. service is fast and comes in around every 5 minutes. we loved using the metro. one negative thing that i can say is that the exits are so far and so are the... More

Maybe an "average" score is unjust, as this metro system will take you almost anywhere in the city, traffic free, but it has quite a few problems. First, it is really hard to figure out which way you are supposed to go after you get to the floor of the correct line. Sometimes the signs say the name of the... More
