This has to be one of the most beautiful and sereen churches in the world...make time to see this.
This was really hyped by friends who had been there, once I got inside, I understood why. Well worth the detour into the Coptic Area!

The church is built on the top of a Roman tower (which you can see through a window set into the floor - off to the right of the central aisle).
The pulpit is supported by 13 pillars (all different) that are supposed to represent Christ and his 12 apostles. The black pillar is alleged to be Judas.
