Just south of Cario on a very interesting drive...interesting to see the progression in them getting the design finally right with the three located up in Cairo. Make sure to have a hat, sunscreen and water
We visited the area after seeing the Pyramids at Giza and we were impressed by all that Saqqara had to offer. The Imhotep Museum was very interesting and informative. It's out of the way so not too many tourists but you really feel like you're living the life of an explorer. They are still digging up jewels/mummies from this area so it's exciting to see the work that they are doing!

very humbling to see these sights - the history is amazing!
Amazing views and opportunities to ride on a camel or a horse drawn buggy. Must see in Cairo. Well worth a trip. Avoid the traders by not speaking to them and wear sunglasses to avoid eye contact!
It is the first pyramid built by king Djoser... It's 60LE entrance fee but students get a discount.. Also do remember there are many other tombs nearby n don forget to visit them... It is 10mins drive from Memphis and around 45 mins drive from Giza...I would sincerely suggest hiring a car from hotel itself.. Avoid cabs as thy will...

What an awesome piece in the middle of the desert. A local guide is invaluable when travelling in Egypt. The history of the place and views of the crooked pyramid are great.
