there were no services in the wadi but if you are into waking and climbing hills and finding peace and quite it is a great place to go to. i really enjoyed riding my bicycle and climbing the hills there. N.B. it is better with friends.

The Wadi Digla is or could be a very nice place.There are some disadvantages: First I do not understand why this protectorat can be visited by car. On weekends there are too many cars in the wadi. I used to go to W.D. for mountain biking on it's beautiful adventurous terrain. also i have stayed there for a night camping and having a BBQ. The industrial zone is just near to the entrance but as soon as you enter the protectorate, you will get excited trying to reach the end of the valley which is around 14... More

This is about the only place to escape the pollution of Cairo and have choices to hike, run or mountain bike - join one of the many clubs to meet like-minded people.

We moved to Maadi from Chicago a few months ago. We found Wadi Digla to be a fabulous advantage where you could take your dog for an off leash walk(which is impossible in any other place in Cairo), even though there were some stray wild dogs, they only bark, and if you fake the move as if you are bending... 20 minutes from Maadi (Cairo traffic allowing) this proved to be a welcome break from the hustle and bussle. If you want to experience the dessert without having to drive miles out of Cairo this could be the ideal place for you.
