We did not visit at night but we visited Edfu temple very early one morning as part of our Nile Cruise. We went to another Sound and Light show and you can give it a skip here as you wont see all the beautiful hieroglyphics at night. We drove through town on a horse and carriage. Generallly, the horses I... More

When I chosen the word speechless to describe the sound and light show at Edfu temple coz that’s exactly how you will fell once you have seen this show. The management of the sound and light show in Edfu (as I know Mr. Esam) done everything to make sure that you will have a nice evening The technology they use... More

We went to the Temple but not the Sound and Light Show. That being said, it was spectacular. With the lack of tourists we had the place virtually to ourselves. We went as part of our Nile River Cruise. The temple is consecrated to Horus, the Falcon god. This version of the temple was built in 327 B.C.E. by Ptolemy... More

We thought Edfu was one of the most beautiful temples we visited. The first pylon (the front wall) is stunning, with enormous and incredibly well-preserved images of the gods, and the carvings throughout the temple are some of the most impressive we saw, with less of the defacement by the early Christians than many of the other temples. There are... More

Our Nile river cruise ship - M/s Zen Monaco halted in the small town of Edfu at 5 am. We were told that the Edfu temple visit will be at 5 am. Wondering what to expect we landed up in a magnificient temple complex after a short Tonga ride. The temple was made for God Horus ( The lord of... More

We saw this temple on our way back to Luxor from Aswan. In my view it is such a beautiful temple on the banks of the nile. It is really well preserved and I agree with the previous comment that it needs to be seen by the day. Well worth the couple of hours we spent there- hardly anyone there... More

We are just getting around to reviewing the sights from our Egypt trip last year. I can't believe Edfu temple is still not listed for review while the Sound and Light Show is. We don't recommend the night show, it was a bit worthless. However, this temple is fantastic when viewed during the day. We recommend coming to Edfu and... More

I paid £20 for my ticket via my guide. If you can get it cheaper might be worth a look just for an evening out. Most of the show you have to stand through although the elderly and disabled were provided with chairs. I wanted it to finish because by the end my feet and legs ached. I also think... More
