A man made marvel. You have to see if you go to Aswan. It has great views and, although you don't need much time there, it's well worth going to see.

the most interesting thing about this is how they moved abu simbel and philae and other islands to build this dam.. the dam itself is frankly not worth going to as nothing really to see (other than the dam...). You will probably end up going anyway...it only costs 20 egyptian pounds to go in so not much ...

This was and is a remarkable construction which is extemely important for Egypt and which altered the lives of the Nubian people who lived in the area and everyone who lived on the banks of the River Nile. Its importance can't be stressed enough and helps to explain a lot of things about the monuments you are likely to visit... More

I felt the High Dam was a bit lame compared to all the other wonderful things I saw in Aswan. In fact, while I was at Aswan, I drove over the High Dam a few times. While you are on it, you just think you are driving over a land bridge that is next to a body of water. I... More

No much to actually see except a monument to celebrate the collaboration with the Russians.

It is worth a quick visit - 10 minutes is sufficient for a look and a photograph.

It was worth seeing the high dam to see how hard people have worked on such mammoth task to control the water in Egypt. There was a monument with 5 pointed fingers on nearby in honour of all the people that worked on the dam.

Every corner of the high dam tells a story of an important part of Egyptian history.

The dam is a very impressive structure. There is a little interpretation at the viewing site but the main centre where the exhibition about its construction used to be located seems to be closed now - probably because of the downturn in tourism. Don't wander off too far from the car park at the viewing site as the soldiers will... More

A dreadfully boring place. Go if you are an engineer who is interested in energy.
