(as it is with most of the sites in luxor, if you wish to avoid both the heat and other tourists. Again this is a temple that few people go to, although it is becoming more popular – you can watch the buses passing on their way to V of K etc. You can do this temple by yourself with... more

Did that mighty Ramesses II do ANYTHING that wasn't already done before? No. Then why is he considered Ramesses The Great in our day and age? Why is he the most famous pharaoh of them all (maybe except for boy-king Tutankhamun)? Because he did everything in impressive mega-size and because a lot of his stuff is still visible today.
