This was a truly wonderful experience - quiet and comfortable, easy to get around and a great variety and display for a museum. Next door the reptile center and great surrounds with a cafe makes it worth a look!

I visited the Nairobi national museum on my own and spent a few hours there. The guidebook said there would be guides available but when I arrived everyone was busy and the ladies on the reception were disinterested to say the least. The archaeological finds are probably the highlight although again some more information on them would have been useful.... More

I enjoyed spending the morning here. Very educational and not much in the way of crowds. A relaxing and enjoyable way to spend the morning while in Nairobi.

The museum is great, especially with the renovations et al.. but there's that feeling of they could do better. i think it's the staff that seem unmotivated to work thus make you feel like you're begging to be shown around or given info...

We took a trip to the Nairobi National Museum one day after reading some not so nice reviews. Our experience was nothing like we read about. It was very well kept, quiet, and full of knowledge. They were still doing a lot of renovations, but for the most part they were complete. There is a video room, a tour guide... More

Hi there, this is a place for history learning and where to view some ancient tools, animals, fossils, birds and many things that you can not imagine existed. They also have a crocodile and snake park within the museum.

I used to visit the museum quite regularly as a child. I took some friends there recently and I was also eager to see what changes had taken place. I found that the dioramas (spelling?) were gone except for one or two. These were actually one of the museum's best features. Some of the exhibits were also absent such as... More

Even we liked this place. the staff is mostly students from the university and they just get paid on tips. they are so helpful. Finally I saw things I had heard of since 8th grade. the Leakey exhibit was wonderful.
