After nine trips to the Mara Triangle I will continue to go back. The landscape and the animal viewing is superb. Every day is different and you never know what you will find around the corner. Herds of ellies, lions and their cubs, cheetah, those funny warthog babies, birds galore, various antelope species and yes even the elusive leopard and... more

In October I went on a Safari with a group of friends to the Masai Mara. I have recently moved to Kenya to live and therefore managed to get hold of a good local guide, who is polite, skilled, well educated and well prepared for everything abut the Mara. Before booking he gave us a number different options for the... more

We went during the migration season and were blown away--the classic African savannah combined with more animals than we had even imagined--it was truly a magical place. The private camping safari also added to the experience--our own campsite, tents, cook, and guide made us feel like we had an authentic safari experience and since we were right in the middle... more

We were on safari in Kenya this year (ref. trip report: senior safari in Kenya), when something unusual happened. I have to back up a bit here and tell you that before we went I had read trip reports about animal harassment and the nuisance of too many vehicles on the road etc. The first evening in the Mara, when... more

We travelled with Accord African Adventure Safaris to the Mara our guide / driver was "George Masai" - George is proud of his country and is without doubt one of the most genuine people we have ever met. Our three days couldn't have been more perfect. Have you ever had the experience when through pure joy you are close to... more

Mara is a wonderful places especially for people like me who love to be in "nature". I would suggest that people live in tents. I had the time of my life and saw nearly all the big animals like lion, cheetah, leopard, giraffe !!, rhino, hippo, crocks, along with the zebra, deer, etc. Less crowded, efficient management by the Mara... more

The Mara Triangle is probably the best kept secret of the Masai Mara. While the rest of the Mara is overcrowded with camps and lodges, and animal sightings have become a battle of tour drivers trying to get as close to the animals as possible at whatever cost to the environment and the wildlife, there is still a part of... more

We booked a tour through the Masai Mara National Park. It was an excellent experience. We saw most of the big animals: cheetah, lions hunting, elephants, giraffe, and even a black rhino that tried to charge our van! Of course we saw zebra, gazelle, and baboons. Oh, and we saw hippos at the Mara River. Our accommodations were excellent. We... more
