I went to Gedi Ruins with my mom and our friend/driver. We took a guide who was very well prepared to look after people for who english is not the first language. The only problem with him was that he wanted be on the every photo :-) I highly recomened climbing on top of the baobab tree as the view... More

We spent the day on the beach, v peaceful, no hassles at all, virtually no-one there. Didn't explore the ruins (did so many years ago).

One of the best hsitorical sites I have visited in Kenya. I must say that the ruin are pretty impressive and it has alot of historical fact presented in the museum.

I think I have been to Gede 4 times now, and each time you learn something new, and see something new. Try not to go at the hottest time of the day at the hottest time of the year, as there is no cover and this makes it very uncomfortable. However, the guides really know there stuff, the site is... We spent an hour or so here and walked around with one of the guides. It's a really interesting place, and quite haunting when you listen to the story of the ruins. There are different walks you can do - the ruins, the flora and fauna (takes about 4 hours), or a mixture of the highlights of the two (which... More

A nice place to visit, but it needs a bit of work on the guide book and the layout (signposting and paths). Well worth a visit. Also the Butterfly Park is much much better then the Haller Park Butterfly Pavillion effort.
