Having seen the Great Wall on so many occasions in the media, I did wonder if it would live up to expectations. I need not have worried it was awe inspiring! Only seeing a small part of the wall made the conception of the full scale of the entire structure somewhat mind-boggling. The sheer steepness of some sections looked as... more

It was quite an experience to climb this 2000 year old structure. While on the wall, I looked out over the vast landscape and thought about all of the labor that went into its construction. This wall would stretch from California to the eastern seabord and beyond if it were in the U.S. It is truly one of the great... more

Great Wall of China is a must-see attraction for all people around the world. However the daily management of this site needs to be further improved. There are too many tourists at Badalin and Jvyongguan section of the wall all year round. It gives a big problem on proper protection of these wall sections. Besides, its tourist attraction fades due... more

A truly impressive place to visit and wonder at this incredible architectural acheivement. Although the length of the 4 thousand mile wall that is suitable for tourists to visit is limited and therefore busy, it is truly stunning. However, it is not for the infirm, involving walking on steep uneven slopes and climbing numerous stairs to reach the best views... more

Just imagining the labor and suffering that was endured to make this astounding and protective wall is amazing. The size, height and span is not truly realized until seen and experienced in person. Seeing The Great Wall of China was the highlight of my trip. To see a 'wall' of this magnitude - that has survived this long - is... more

The Great Wall is almost beyond explanation. Climbing the wall and looking over the vast area of land that it protects is truly breathtaking. All that I could think about was that was standing atop a man-made stucture large enough to be viewed from space. WOW! To think that the wall was created more to be a psychological defense then... more

The few times I have been to the great wall I have skipped their earlier less attractive sections closer to Beijing and gone to the Ba Da Ling section. There are still a lot of tourists depending on the season, but it is a gorgeous section of the wall and you really get a feel for the grand size of... more

It stretches from one end to the other side which you can't see. Most people only visit the first part of it to get the feel. When you reach t the top of the first part and look down, you will definitely admire the structure and the sceneries below. more

The magnitude of the wall will amaze you! It is inconceivable to imagine building this wall over 2000 years ago, the man power and the ingenuity to construct such a structure in the mountains. It makes the long trip to China worth the effort. more
