Very fast! I was really impressed with the people at the Beijing railway station. As we missed our train to Shanghai and they booked us the next bullet train, and we didn't even have to pay a surcharge. This is the best way to drive long distances in China and it was really comfortable. Please note you can't smoke on... More

We took the trains from Beijing to Tianjin and we just loved it. It is clean, fast, modern and clean toilet (hard to find in Chinese public places), on time, and just very convenient.

We took the train on a comparatively short trip -- Nanjing to Beijing. The train was clean and comfortable. There is a dining car, but I did not check it out. My only caution is that the train does not stop for very long at stations, and people know it. While people generally allow others to get off first, there... More

Travelled on CRH from Langfang to Beijing which only take approximately 20 minutes which cost me RMB20 for a 2nd class and RMB30 for a 1st class ticket. As it was a short journey, either cabin is perfectly fine. Purchase of ticket - Could be further improved. Currently, foreigner could purchase ticket via CRH web site, unfortunately the ticket collection... More

The cost is so inexpensive it's a joke. The trains are clean but very crowded. You can get anywhere in the city on the Tube. The advantage is Taxis get caught in traffic which is worse than a bad day in Manhattan.

This is by far the best way to travel in China. On time, not crowded, convenient and you can easily get tickets. If you can get where you want to go with it, use it. I travel between Beijing and Shanghai using it all the time.

I took the Beijing to Lhasa train, departing Beijing on April 19, 2012. I had tried to book the soft sleeper (only four passengers to a berth); however, was only offered the hard sleeper (six to a berth). Don’t be fooled into thinking that this train is equivalent to a European or North American train. It is definitely not. Hard... More

Had the pleasure of taking the Beijing Bullet train to and from Shanghai. The total trip gets done in a couple of hours, and is very smooth. There are express versions with no stops and most trains only stop twice during the journey. HIGHLY recommend the train, especially if you spring for business class (which is our equivalent to first... More
