I enjoyed the experience. Due to the public holidays, it was very crowded. The scenery from the Great wall was stunning. Loved it.

This is a brilliant part of the Great Wall, slightly closer to the city centre than Badaling. The coach and car park is next to the highway at the bottom of the pass. It's possible to do the whole circuit in less than two hours.

Ju Yong gateway is a remarkable section of the Great Wall. It does not appear to be as overrun by vendors, although there are still a few, and the coffee in the cafes is good. The rebuilding of the gateways and the main sections of the walls has been executed with great attention to detail.

Many websites say that Badaling is the closest section of the wall from Beijing. This is simply not true. We hired a driver to take us to Badaling, but he was sneaky and took us here instead because it was closer.
