I like this better than the Forbidden city. There's less people here and the garden is just amazing full of greens and large pine trees. Get an automated guide to help you understand the parts of the park, 100RMB deposit and you will get it back at the end of the tour. Entrance is about 35RMB if I'm not mistaken.... More

This complex was actually very huge, with long rows of beautiful trees, but you must enter from the South Gate, imagine yourself the emperor and walk along the marble floor to the three main spots. But the park surrounding these temples and altar are very nice in itself and should be enjoyed if you have the time

When the first time i visitted Tiantan, I've found it is a beautiful temple. The shape is unique. The local guide tell me not to pray for rain here. Because it was the temple where emperor pray for rain.

We were told that there had been over 66,000 admissions to the Forbidden City an d Temple of Heaven on the day we visited. I was disappointed that more of the buildings were not opened and displaying artifacts of the era. Interesting architecture and good job of restoration.

The Temple of Heaven is a must-see in Beijing for more than just the beauty and historical significance of the temple. Tiantan Park is just outside on the grounds, and it is a wonderful place to sit and mingle with the locals. People are playing games, playing instruments, dancing, etc. Very interesting and quite entertaining. I could have spent half... More
