You can take the bus to cross, the fare is the same, but the ferry is a much more fun experience. Very frequent and it gives you a different perspective of both sides (Hong Kong and Kowloon) as you are approaching them. Take one in the evening if you can.

without a trip on the star ferry! The trip from Central to Kowloon is one of the great ferry rides, superb city views and I love the quaint old pier at Central

Be local and go bottom deck! Great views of both sides of the Pearl River Delta.

Great 10 min ride but you have to plan carefully otherwise you are in for a long walk. The ferry is great for making connections to other ferries but if you. Plan on catching the subway to other points just use the subway. Also if you go toward the right entrance on the TST side you end up on the... More

Sail with them to cross the Victoria Harbour. This historic ride which is still used as a public transport is the most scenic way to get around Hong Kong! Tips, 1. To me, it is regardless which direction you sail from, just make sure you face the Island of Hong Kong to get the dramatic view! 2. Please sit at... More

You have to cross Victoria Harbour on the Star Ferry while in Hong Kong. You pass large boats, little junks with traders in them and you wonder how they manage to miss each other. The pier itself has good signposting so it is easy to find the correct boarding place.

Taking a trip on the Star Ferry is great. It's hustle and bustle all the way but is worth every sight. See the Hong King skyline from the water and your jaw will drop. When boarding and disembarking though - be careful not to slip. It's reasonably busy but then, this is Hong Kong. It's cheap and a great way... More

Well, the new Star Ferry Pier is very different from the old one. Maybe it is me as a historical person. However, with the new maritime museum coming next to the pier in Central, hopefully it will drive the visitor traffic to even higher.
