I took my father here. We took the bus from Central, arrived there to walk around the back street. Later had lunch at Black Sheep, we had the table outside and got the nice sunshine over the winter cold. We have a jug of sangria to share. We also sat facing the white sands, while I rented the bike to... More

A very beautiful and peaceful sea bay for an afternoon escape from the busy city. The Thai restaurant is marvellous too.

Another great little getaway from the hectic city. Stop at the Chinese and Thai restaurant for a meal.

My son and his family live at Shek O, and my last visit there was fabulous. One of the nicest beaches anywhere...and when it isn't a Sunday, the village is delightful. I was there for the last Tin Hau Festival (last one was in early November 2011) which included a large performance space set up for 6 days, with free... More

This is a beautiful European style village next to a beautiful beach. Really worth the effort of getting there for a quiet private stroll and maybe a swim and a nice meal. Very relaxing so different from the hustle and bustle of the centre of hong kong or Kowloon.

Getting to Shek O is half the fun - or half the battle. If you like to hike, there's a great trail on Dragon's Back that takes you into town. Driving is an option, but it' a long and winding road. Once there, it's a quaint little village with open air eateries and gorgeous views. There's not much else to... More

If you have time and get off teh beaten track then head to Shek O for the best food in Hong Kong. The Chinese & Thai restaurant at the roundabout is the best.there is with great service/ great food and it does not cost a fortune. Do not be put off by the plastic tables and chairs

If your looking to get out of the city for a while, it is well worth the trip. Very nice beach and probably the closest to an Aussie beach you'll find in Hong kong. Enough little Chinese/Thai restaurants and we found them pretty cheap and very nice. You can also sit under the tree that surround the beach and kick... More

Defo trek out to Shek O - there's loads of little buses and it's quite a nice ride as you get to see off-the-beaten-track HK. The beach itself is nice and clean and has good changing room/toilet facilities - massive bonus when in HK! The beach stretches quite far and there's always plenty of room for everyone. Just off the... More
