Wong Tai Sin is a Taoist temple which was one of the highlights of my 3 month long trip through Asia. There are fortune tellers (many in english) and guides to explain etiquette within the temple grounds (how to pray to specific gods). Listening to the shaking of the bamboo cylinder, smelling the incense and watching the many worshippers was... More

The temple is beautiful, it has a very nice garden and water feature. The bad thing was the entire place is so crowded with people and tourists that it was hard to enjoy the place. Its free so that was a plus.

The easiest way to get to the Wong Tai Sin temple is to take the MTR to Wong Tai Sin station which is just a few minutes walk away from the temple. They say that if you have a long standing wish, then the place you should be going to is this temple - for at Wong Tai Sin, if... More

I respect all God/Goddess no matter if they really exist. But i wonder why would they make this temple so commercialized until tourists can take pictures everywhere anytime they wn. Even close-ups on the statues??? The fortune tellers will tell you lots of stories and common sense thingy, instead of pin-pointing on your fortune paper. They sort of not much... More

If you only have a day or two in Hong Kong go to Man Mo Temple in Central, but if you have more time and want to really see how HK worships, take the subway to northern Kowloon and visit Wong Tai Sin Temple. You won't be disappointed. There are several temples located on one site and each is more... More

A big temple that is worth visiting to see Hong Kong's religious side, even though the population are generally not very pious they do come to pray for good luck and prosperity!

This temple is next to the Wong Tai Sin MTR station, making it very easy to visit. It's in Kowloon as opposed to Hong Kong island but in many waysthe fact it's a little away from the main tourist sites adds to its charms. There is a large courtyard in which local Chinese pray and at the front of the... More
