I love Stanley Market a lot. First, this market is only 3 minutes away from the famously Stanley beach. So I can leave the kids at the beach with my husband while I go shopping, and later on when they finish, they will meet me at the market and they will be going wild asking for toys which thankfully, at... more
Our day started with a seat at the front of a double decker bus. It was like being on a roller coaster, but the views were amazing along the way. We went from Causeway Bay, I think it was the 63 bus. We had a great time and thought that the sourvenirs there were totally different from those at the... more
I went to Stanley Markets in october 2007. They are very very average markets and the prices are considerably higher than Temple street markets. There is no cajoling to buy and not really much bargaining as the markets are almost 100% for tourists so the vendors know another bus load will be along soon if they don't sell to you.... more
Stanley Market is one of the most famous markets in HK and definetly worth checking out for tourists to find bargains. Here, you can find a wide variety of stalls, selling souviniers, clothes, bags, household accessories, toys, gifts, ornaments, art, etc. The Market is excellent for gifts, such as silk cushions/accessories, handbags, t shirts, souviniers. The Market only takes about... more
The Stanley Markets are a bit of a hike from TST, but if you have some time, it's not such a bad trip. Take in the scenery on top of a double decker bus from central to Stanley. It does get a bit bumpy, but worth it. The market stall holders won't hassle you to buy their wares like the... more
If you have visited Ladies Market and Templers Night Market, this is market is a disappointment. The Tshirts that was priced for HK20-25 in the markets, are priced around HK30-35 here. I found the clothes very "auntie" like and expensive. The other stuff are the usual run-in-the-mill stuff. If you have already bought your souveniers from the other markets, don't... more
We had heard so much about Stanley Market but were a little disappointed when we got there. Sure there were lots of stalls but it much was cheap rubbish and it had not real character. We preferred the Chinese food market nearby with a crazy selection of stuff which would be illegal in the US. I think the hygiene standards... more
I had unrealistic expectations of Stanley Markets - it's very, very good for kids clothes (decent quality and well priced) but honestly I didn't find much in terms of womens clothing, handbags, sunglasses, watches, jewellery etc. I found one nice pair of shoes but had to look hard. I guess it's a typical market - a lot of average stuff... more
Arrived at stanly market not knowing what to expect, but found it very pleasant. came across a stall selling two types of garments...rugby shirts and greg norman shirts priced if you bought them in twos, 7.50 and 5.00 euro each, Stanly is a very pleasant area to go to as it is not crowed, would go there again, actually i... more
