Been here on two different occasions now but still as good the second time round. The church has had a new roof since our first visit but it is done in a tasteful way as not to diminish the buildings historical significance. This church was one of the stops in a typical Bohol tour that travelers can easily arrange from the airport. Coming to Bohol, I was only excited about the popular sites such as the Chocolate Hills and Panglao Island. The Baclayan Catholic Church was founded by two Jesuit priests in 1595. Entry to the church is free: modest dress is expected. Entry to the attached museum costs P25 each, while a visit to the toilet ('CR' in Filipino parlance) is P10 each. The altar and pulpit are magnificent. BACLAYON CHURCH is a must see stop for any serious tourist interested in art, culture and history.
