Featuring more than 400 rare objects, the Maritime Experiential Museum and Aquarium is the first and only museum to showcase the history of ancient maritime trade. Marvel at Admiral Zheng He’s massive Treasure Ship (Bao Chuan) and learn about his epic voyages from China to the ‘Western Ocean’. Check out the ports of call, the exotic bazaars (Souks) and cultural emporium which Admiral Zheng He and other Asian explorers visited along the Maritime Silk Route. Be awed and fascinated by the Jewel of Muscat, a reconstruction of a 9th-century dhow - a gift from the Omani government to the people of Singapore. Find out more about maritime archaeology and conservation, shipwrecks and sunken cargoes and early Singapore’s role as an important entrepot in the 14th century.. Sail your own ship, barter trade, read positions with ancient navigation tools and play many other games at the interactive kiosks. More adventures await you – historic ships, typhoons, shipwrecks and exciting tales of explorers and traders. « less

The Maritime Experiential Museum (MEM) is located at Resorts World Sentosa in Singapore. Not sure where this is? It's right across from Universal Studios Singapore. The museum (minus the aquarium that's yet to be completed) makes for quite an interesting and enlightening visit. Sited in a building shaped to mimic an upturned ship, the experience is quite awe-inducing with the... More

At first it looks like it could be boring, but wow, can't believe how good it was, did it twice in 2 consecutive days...the Tythoon Theatre was great, very good show, will be returning !

got this as a complimentary ticket from universal studios, the museum is not yet fully completed. Not a waste of time, you should drop by when you're in sentosa.

Enjoyed wandering around the exhibits and learning more on Asia's History. Typhoon Theatre is fun for all - big kids and little kids! Reasonably priced, with some nice souveniers to take home. Unfortunately the Aquarium wasn't finished, which was the drawcard for us, but still enjoyed it.

Don't get fooled by the low admission fees that you may be getting an equally "cheap" experience. The Maritime museum displayed the voyage of Zheng He and guides the visitors through his journey with interesting displays of the various places that he had visited. There are also loads of stuff for kids to do such as coloring and making your... More

The typhoon theater tells the story of a shipwreck and supposedly the event encountered in it. There is nothing much to see and experience in this 360 degrees theater, except for the strong winds and mist from the typhoon when seated on wooden planks of the theater. Don’t expect a thrill and this is not a ship ride. A total... More

Since I am not much of a museum person, one can not get to the typhoon theater without purchasing the MEMA ticket, that was why I had to force myself to walkthrough the museum. The cheap entrance ticket is already a hint what to expect in the museum. If you love Asian history, then this museum would be interesting but... More

the ticket is cheap compared with other attractions in Sentosa or even in Singapore. the attractions are good for kids. they can see some fairy tale about many cities around the world. they can pretend have a passport and stamp it, as if they already going around the world. there's a lot of attractions for 1 - 2 hours, but...
