This is a well run small museum of the Falklands and is well worth a visit.
A small but well set out museum with a concise history of life in the Falklands from the first settlement to the present age, including of course the 1982 invasion and subsequent occupation.
If you came ashore by ship’s tender this will be the first large building you see as you enter the land. Well worth our visit. The lawn looked manicured and great in the December cold. Inside the people are friendly and act as though they enjoy having you come to the area.
excellent cross section of local history. Plenty of by gone industry like whaling. Also good B&W photos of the past.
a variety of falkland memorabilia and wildlife, a compact exhibit. the staff are extremely knowledgeable and proud of their heritage. we popped into the museum but the staff also drove us to their latest exhibit, an authentic settlers house furnished in its original state. a must see for anyone visiting stanley
