It took 5 years to get there and minutes to realize we had made the right choice. A gorgeous blue green class 5 whitewater river in the Futaleufu valley in Patagonia. Bio Bio Expeditions provided first class everything from the guides they used to the top notch food. We slept in beds, soaked in the hot tub and had a... More

I went rafting in Futaleufu with my girlfriend and my uncle, and it was absolutely amazing! We booked our trip with a company called Patagonia Elements, who is located in Futaleufu. You could tell they had a lot of experience doing this, and all the equipment you needed was included in the price. Our "captain" of the raft was a... More

Just spent time with Futaleufu Explore folks, the employees are great, but the owners/management are a mess. If you can find another raft company, do. I have never seen such disorganization and poor management in a guiding company.

The Futaleufu river trip is fabulous; every minute is jammed with adventure sports. The rafting is only one part of this trip, though it was my favorite part, it's a multi-challenge trip. I would reccommend it to anyone with decent amount of stamina. The river guides who sometimes double as cooks are great! Their English is virtually perfect, they were... More

Futaleufu River—Don’t Wait, It’s Great! Outstanding, great, fabulous, stupendous, wonderful, sublime, fantastic--I don't think there are enough superlatives to express how much we enjoyed our trip down the Futaleufu with Futaleufu Explore. This is a long review, so I have subdivided it so that you can skip the parts you find boring. Who we are Two fiftyish men who are,... More

Ever travel somewhere and you just can't explain to someone else how incredible it was? Well, Bio Bio Expeditions' camp on the Futaleufu River is one of those places. And the good news is that the earthquake had no effect on this region (you travel through Argentina to get there). We arrived at "camp" and were greeted by an incredible... More

This will be a long review. I traveled to the outpost of Futaleufu, Chle twice, once in January 2006 and again in February 2007. Both times I accessed Futaleufu via Buenos Aires, Argentina and Esquel, Argentina. The town of Futaleufu is about two hours by an excellent road from Esquel. Nonstop jet flights take you from BA to Esquel on... More

I decided to do something a little different for New Years this year and I looked into booking an adventure vacation somewhere I'd never visited before. I ended up picking a whitewater rafting vacation with H2O Patagonia on the "Futa" river and had one of the best vacations of my life. The scenery was beautiful and ever changing. We hiked... More
