You have to take a special train to get to the top of the hill, where you have a suberb view of the city!

It was a great ride up to the top of the hill in a very old tram. The view was fantastic, we were lucky to have a clear afternoon. On the way uo is the zoo. We did not gothere this time but it is worth a visit.

I would love to visit on a clear day but those seem to be few. I still am glad I went up, take the funicular it's cheap and easy.

Interesting place, accessed by a finicular. Try going up on a clear day if you want a good view.

This is a definite ‘must do’ while you are visiting Santiago, whether it is a foggy/smoggy day or not! We chose to take the funicular up and down, which we thought was good value for money as it saved our legs! Having said that, if you are more energetic than us and want to walk, run or cycle up, there... More

Beautiful views. If you can go up 30 min before sunset you will get the daylight views, the beautiful sunset views, and then be able to see the city lights.

The train trip up on the old funicular railway - or a stiff walk if you are up to it - and the view from the top. Try to get a non smoggy day if possible! Queues can get long for the railway on weekends and holidays so try to get there early or be ready to wait.

Pick a nice clear day to take the funicular up to the top of Cerro San Cristobal and you will be rewarded with a beautiful view of Santiago. However, there are not many nice clear days, we got some hazy smog the day we went but it was not too bad.

The funicular is a good way to get up, other than walking 6kms to the top. And one way it´s 1000pesos. The statue of the Virgin Mary at the top has a great peaceful aura about it, as does the chapel. A great spot to sit and have a break from the hustle and bustle of Santiago. The views are... More

Walk it, hike it, cycle it, or just sit down somewhere and enjoy the quiet. Its beautiful and well-kept. Fantastic views. Lovely flowers.....and it's free!
