After living in Santiago for over a year, I can say without a doubt this was my favorite place to eat in the city. The food is fresh and the atmosphere is one of a kind. I never had a bad experience at any of the restaurants in the building. Try it, you won't regret it. more
maybe the name was left from the good old days but Today "Mercado Central" is a group of resturants between fish shops. The fish fragrance is all over the place. The dishes are big and prices are moderate. Take it with a smile and enjoy the moment. more
Tourist Trap. There is nothing to buy here in this 'market' except random fruits of the sea. Let's put it this way, no locals are doing their shopping there. This place is full of great restaurants, but not exactly trendy. more
The central market is an old-fashioned grocery store, set in an architectural wonder. The outer ring contains myriads of butcher shops. Seafood shops piled high with fresh local catch abound iInside the main building. But the real attractions are the restaurants in the central area.
