It is a jewel of a small theater, beautifully decorated in early 20th century taste. It has very good opera presentations, and also ballet and classical music. Modern ticketing system, easy to use.

The Teatro Municipal was built as an exact replica of the Opera House in Paris, France. It was modelled down so whilst it's the same building it is not the same size. This is where international singers and dancers "do their bit" If I remember correctly it has 5 levels and of course the fifth one is where cash strapped...

Saw Ballet de Santiago perform Romeo y Juliet in this theater and it was a marvellous experience. The theater is gorgeous inside and out. A professional, metropolitan theater.
