The post office is housed in a beautiful building on Plaza de Armas. It certainly is worth a visit when you are in the square.

The Central Post Office on Plaza de Armas contains a very nice, free, post office museum (Museo Postal y Telegrafico). It is worth seeing, if only for the somewhat ornate architecture and wrought-iron railings and ceiling. It's worth popping in for a look at the beautiful lobby. In addition, there is a small, unmanned Postal Museum off the right side (free). If you like old technology or antique machines there are some nice examples you shouldn't miss.
