Amazing indigenous art and culture museum
Absolutely fabulous museum for anyone interested in indigenous cultures of Ecuador. Amazing collection of thematically-arranged items from many pre-Colombian civilizations, including some from many thousands of years ago. Our tour guide (Charlie) was extremely knowledgeable and made the worldviews of ancient peoples come alive in the museum. Highly recommended.

Loved the space and the art!
Fantastic way to connect with the ancient history of the area. We hear alit about the Inca and the Spanish, but not about the basis for the Incan beliefs and art. The artifacts are well lit with an English museum guide and English-Spanish exhibit cards.

Beautiful collection of Ecuadorian pre-Columbian art
This museum just off Plaza de San Francisco has an amazing collection of pre-Columbian art from all parts of Ecuador, nicely displayed in many rooms on two levels in an old building around a courtyard. So many beautiful objects that we got tired of taking pictures. Highly recommend for anyone interested in art. Reservations not needed.

Easily 1000 pre-Columbian artifacts on display. Some date back as far as 4000BC. These were made by the various people who were conquered and then absorbed by the Inca in the early 15th century.

Lovely museum of precolombian art. Just the right size, well signed in English and Spanish. Building was quite special as well. Left me wanting to learn more.

Casa del Alabado was easily the best museum of our recent trip to Ecuador. It holds a deep collection of well-displayed and carefully organized artifacts dating back to ca. 3000 BCE. Several of the pieces displayed artistic vision and the use of advanced techniques that wouldn't feel out of place in modern artwork.

We had the benefit of a knowledgeable tour guide -- but, even if you don't, I'm guessing that the English language audio guide available at the museum will add to your visit.

Highly worthwhile and recommended!

An old house which has been renovated as a museum. It holds a superb collection of indigenous art with explanations in English and Spanish. There is a nice café in the center courtyard - which is a nice place to relax and escape the crowds. Definitely worth a visit.

This is a beautiful, well organized, and well displayed museum with an international standard. The staff are friendly and the surroundings are lovely. This is the nicest museum in Quito to enjoy pre-Columbian pieces. Save your time and skip the others.

This museum is in the center of Quito and the entrance seemed a bit expensive for what is there. In general, I loved the colonial structure and the rooms are well organized.
