The Teleferico is just a short drive from the city. The view from the cable car as it ascends is spectacular. One can really get a great view of Quito. After exiting the car, there is still ample space left for hiking to the top or, if one chooses, to just enjoy the view. There are horses available for those... more

As others mentioned : Put on or bring warm (extra) clothing!! We went up in the morning with bright sunshine, it clouded over . For some technical reasons the teleferico didn't work for abt 2 hrs . It started to rain mixed with sleet....We were just glad to make it back to the large restaurant to get cover . There... more

excellent visit- if you go during the week the lines will be shorter, although you can pay extra at any time to get in the "express" line. the views from up there are incredible. and if you have kids- there is also an amusement park. one piece of advice- dress warmly- it's really cold up there! more

Well, I am from Quito but I live in the States and I have been here for the past 7 years....
