There are three floors of exibits. The lower floor consists of a display and history of money in Ecuador. November through January of 2008/09 is dedicated Black people and their history. The third floor is dedicated to the peoples and cultures of Ecuador. Do not miss the gardens and bird exhibit outside, it was beautifull. Try to bring small bills... more

This was really an excellent musuem. The exhibit on the archeology and native peoples of Ecuador was extremely good and tourist-friendly, all the descriptions being in Spanish, English, and the native Quecha. They also had a fun exhibit about the native group that practices head shrinking (with 5 actual shrunken heads!) and some actual Incan ruins out back. It was... more

This is a terrific museum. The anthropological displays are very well done - but leave plenty of time to tour the excavations and garden displays outside too. We were very pleasantly surprised at what a nice museum this is. more
