Cajas is one of the best parks in Ecuador to walk in the Paramo (high altitude grassland ecosystem). It is easy accesible, it is good preserved and is simply very beautiful. The nature is of good quality, full with birds and other animals and off course the Polylepis forests, the dwarf trees. You will feel the height. There are several... more

This is a beautiful place full of high altitude lakes, & mysteriously beautiful plants & trees. Best to go with a guided group tour. Ask about tours to El Cajas at your hotel. I also highly recommend taking a group tour to Ingapirca during your stay in Cuenca(devote one full day to each destination). more
