Travelling in the Andean Explorer is a unique experience, a route between mountains, clouds, snow-capped mountains and puna finishing in the majestic Lake Titicaca. Its coaches involve you in an environment extremely decorated with the elegant style of Pullman trains of the decade of 1920. Its tourist shows, the 5-fork lunch, dining cars, observatory-bar car outdoors, among other attractions. « less

It was very comfortable- we had the best class I think- this was arranged and included in our price of our Inca Trek tour company.

We travelled from Puno to Cuzco. rly start, for an 8am departure from the very anonymous rail station at Puno. A four coach train, with cooking facilities, and a great observation car. The programme for the trip looked busy, but was very enjoyable- Puno and Cuzco folk music, Pisco sour demo, and a fashion show. The views all along the... More

Very specail and luxorious train. You can go to the back of the train and take photos. It is open back. Also the restaurant vagon is something very special. Lot of programme on the train like dancing and making Pisco Sour.

The irst three hours or so are not specatacular, but after that the ride becomes incredible. It is a long journey to Puno, but the staff was fabulous and made the time fly. If you are lucky to meet Angela on your ride you will have met one of Peru's most beautiful ladies. Keep your hands inside the train while... More

On the Andean Explorer by Orient-Express by 7:30am ready for an 8:00am start. The train took us from Cusco into the highlands and on to Puno, almost 4,000 metres above sea level. The train itself is tastefully decorated in the style of the great Pullman trains of the 1920's much like the Hiram Bingham we travelled on from Machu Picchu.... More

For 220 USD you'll have a wonderful 3-course meal, entertainment with local dances and music onboard, service-minded staff, comfortable chairs, table cloths and an unforgettable view of the Andes mountains. Can it be better? Do it if you can afford it is my advise!

We set out on this train journey with some enthusiasm, having greatly enjoyed the Hiram Bingham train. I hadn't realised just how long the trip is, but even that would not have been a problem, were it not for the single traditional Peruvian pan pipes CD playing on continual loop. It was interrupted twice on the trip by the performance... More

First class travel with fine food, entertainment, and amazing scenery. We took this from Puno to Cuzco. Travelling from Cuzco to Puno would help fight altitude sickness at the Puno end as it is higher than Cuzco. The daylong journey was a nice relaxing break to a holiday. The view from our seats was fine but the open deck at... More
