I heartily recommend Amazonas Explorer to anyone who wishes to visit Peru. Our family group of three (aged 30-60s) had an amazing trip. Amazonas Explorer tailored our visit exactly to our needs and our guide was flexible in making small changes to the itinerary "on the fly" to suit us. Each day of the trip was a fantastic experience and... More

Having tried organizing my Peru adventure through other tour companies with little success I came across Amazonas and decided that they looked like a company that better suited my style of travel, this turned out to be a great choice as I did witness many other tour groups falling over each other while my guide Carlos & I easily found... Amazonas did an excellent job with our hike to Machu Picchu - the guide, Willow, was terrific and the entire staff provided outstanding service. Hike was more difficult than we expected, but the scenery and service were superb.

We traveled with our 3 kids (ages 25, 21, and 16) to Peru from Dec. 19-30, 2011 with Amazonas Explorer. After doing a lot of searching, we selected Amazonas Explorer because the itinerary they offered was exactly what we were looking for. Dougie was very helpful in tailoring our plans and providing essential information. We definitely made the perfect choice!... More

The Amazonas guys are real downhillers. They have quality bikes and know the best trails around Cusco. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to try something different from polished chairlift access trails. Try the Mega Avalanche!

This was one of the toughest trips I have done to date, but a fantastic one thanks to the folks at Amazonas Explorer! A friend and I joined a group of eight hikers total for the Amazonas' Choquequirao trip which after a brief stay in Cuzco, began in Cahora to Choququirao and onto Machu Picchu. In total the hike was... More

I took a 11 day bike tour of Peru with Amazonas Explorer from Lake Titicaca to Machu Picchu. It was an incredible experience. Everything about the tour was first rate. The camping was well planned and comfortable. The food was excellent (pretty impressive for camp food) each meal was at 2 courses - well cooked and delicious. The guides were... More

We decided to do the Inca Trail in private. That was a very good choice. From the beggining we felt very secure with the Amazonas Explorer Team. We always had fast answer to our email and the information were clear and precise. And on spot, we met a very professionnal team also. Our team (porter, guide, cooker, assistant) were very... More

I could not have asked for a better experience in Peru- AE, the guides and porters made my experience so wonderful. Prior to this trip I had camped 2 nights in my life. I grew up in South Florida which is below sea level and only started hiking about 5 years ago. I wasn't entirely sure what to expect from... More

We did the multi-activity trip including horseriding and inca ruins, rafting the Urabamba, mountain biking and then the Inca trial. Inca trial was as expected excellent, but the real surprise was the mountain biking. The downhills were excellent and the guides really skilled. One of the other highlights was getting hot food for lunch in the middle of nowhere on... More
