Just fun to walk around and see the various buildings and the people in different native costumes.

We just lived wandering the streets of the historic centre of Cusco with its Occassional Inca walls, cobbled streets, great churches, markets and innumerable small interesting shops. Cusco is not just a stop on the way to Machi Picchu but a fantastic destination in its own right.

Cusco is a sprawling, virtually third-world city of 350,000 people. It can take an hour by car to get across town. Except for the historic core area, it is an unlovely (to be kind) city. Markets, real art, surrounding, great food with good prices. Nice people. Skip the folklore dance center - it simply a shame, I am sure that there are way more serious dancers than this place offer in Cusco.
