The Plaza de Armas is just breathtaking I have to admit. I went there for Lima´s anniversary and had a wonderful time. There you will be amazed by all the brightful colours of the buildings, the giant palmer trees, the fountain, the cathedral.... My husband and I had a good time shopping in the surrounding area and just relaxing on a park bench in the Plaza de Armas. It's surrounded by important and gradiose buildings, including the president's palace. Lots of great photo ops, but if you're looking for the Pizzarro statue it's been moved to the nearby Parque de la Murella. more

I was there with some friends last summer from europe. and I must say it was a pleasant day out shopping, sightseeing, and some good restaurants in Jiron de la Union that was cheaper than miraflores.
