I recommend visiting right around 5 pm when it opens and before mass. The gold shine beautifully... worh a visit and lots of pictures... no flash, of course.

Glad we visited the church. We were provided an English speaking guide included in the price of the tour. Saw some frescos they have recently discovered and the beautifully carved wooden chairs and altars. The catacombs were eerie but interesting. Worth seeing.

One of top places to vista for Historic Catholic places in South America. Catacombs are highly unusual. Rest of place shows the extent of Catholic history . Beautiful tour and place to visit.

The catacombs with bones, library and last supper peru style are the highlight. Unfortunately we went with Spanish speaking tour (first available) due to short of time, still it's worth the visit and the 7 soles admission fees. Not recommended bringing younger than 10 years old kids due to the nature of the highlights.

Lima has many ornate churches. The catacombs under the church are quite unusual and interesting to see.

The guided tour was great. This site was worth the visit. We got there 10 minutes before the first tour started (they were not yet open). Some people we met on the trip went later in the day. Their tour group was packed and they were rushed through, the exact opposite of our experience. They went the same day as... More

They charge a fee for the museum and catacomb. The church itself is free. if you have not seen a catacomb with human bones and skull stacking around at different chambers. This is an eye opener. The catholic art work is more local (South American than European). A lot of amazing wood craving works as well. I have a good... More
