Fanastic collection of Pre-Incan societies. Wari, Moche, Huatar and the Incas. The descriptions were excellent and they provided a comprehensive timeline for each area. The Museo Larco is one of the best museums out of ones we saw in Lima and Cusco. You do not need a guide, in my opinion. The descriptions were that good.

We took a private tour of this small museum. It was exceptional, full of pottery and treasures, giving the time line and making sense of the history of Peru...who conquered who and how long they reigned. The pottery which was quite visual was especially important because it depicted everyday life at the time. The museum also had a few cases... More

This set the tone for the trip, fabulous museum, amazing Peruvian history, and I learned so much at the beginning of the trip that it made the trip more educational!

Interesting collection of artifacts. We got a museum guide and her comprehension of English was disappointing.

Excellent background for the beginning of our trip through Peru with its explanation of culture, history, the different environments of Peru, and products. We had an excellent guide.

Was told by our tour agent that if we could only see one museum, this was it and she was right. Very interesting artifacts from ALL the cultures in Lima, with excellent descriptions of the displays in both English and Spanish

No question this is a fine museum and well run. Collection is privately owned but they have done a good job in presenting items. Not sure about the erotic art gallery, could have done without it . Restaurant is very good

The museum is a must see in Lima. There are thousands of artifacts. We started with a movie explaining where the artifacts came from (there are several language versions of the movie). Then we moved on to the upstairs exhibits. After that we went downstairs to a VERY x-rated museum. We had our 12 year old with us and the... More

Worth visiting. The building and grounds are by themselves beautiful with a wonderfulsmall cafe that you should allow time for but what is really great is the museum. Very well done exhibits with very good information in many languages. A truly good experience. Don't miss it!
