There is a walking tour in English which talks about the discovery of this site, what restoration is still required, and the amount of years needed to do further digging. The walking tour is free with your admission. We visited on a cool sunny day...wear sunscreen and sunglasses. If it is hot outside, I think if it was any hotter,... More

I did not enjoyed Huaca that much it is a bunch of adobe bricks in the middle of Miraflores, the guide was not very friendly and it seems that he was doing it for the salary and not the history of his culture. At the end he showed some animals and plants native to Peru in what could have been... More

Well worth a visit if you have a few spare hours in Lima. Plus, definitely eat at the restaurant if you can. The food is excellent and you have a great view of the pyramid.

Whilst the basis story of this site is, of course, interesting, visiting the actual site is not. Our guide was excellent but found it difficult to animate a large number of adobe bricks, even with a detailed historical analysis! It can be very hot and there is no shelter. The visit is usually combined with a our of the city... More

This is a most interesting place, and well worth a visit. Visitors are not allowed to walk unsupervised, and we were initially told that guided tours are only held in Spanish. This is not correct. Our guide spoke excellent English, and was most knowledgeable about the site, which has a fascinating history. The authorities are clearly putting an effort into restoring... More

It is a great adobe and clay pyramid located in the Miraflores district of central Lima, Peru, built from seven staggering platforms.

We joined an English tour at the gate and were shown ancient earthquake proof brick laying techniques, the mummy tombs, 2 layers of occupation, live farm animals and food gardens. Social and communial work is explained along with 2 types of sacrifice: of women ages 12 - 25 and the ritual of breaking pottery using period statues of Hauri tribesmen.... More

Enjoyed the tour of the ruins more than anticpated, bizarre... right in th middle of the city... stopped at the restaurant afterward... a bit pricey but delicious...no English and I didn't have my translaion book... picked something off the specials of the day... I thought I recognized shrimp and creole... absolutely delicious. Would recommend.
