We visited Pachacmac on a tour during our short stay in Lima. After hiking to Macchu Picu, it was not as impressive, but in it's own right, it's location right near Lima, on the water AND in the dessert. We were all very impressed, and so happy we decided to explore - the ruins are in excellent condition, and the... More

We needed a way to spend 1/2 day while overnighting in Lima, PERU. The Pachacamac ruins were a nice way to spend several hours. You get to see some of Lima, the desert, the ocean and the ruins where they all meet. It only takes less than an hour to get there. The ruins are nice. So, if you need... More

We chose this visit as we had very little time at the end of the conference. Coach tour took 4 hours and was very informative with a friendly tour guide.

If yo have tie to spare or didn't get a chance to visit Peru's wonderful and top rated archeological sites (such as Machu Picchu, Caral, etc) then Pachacamac is definitely worth your time. It's about a 30 min drive from Lima, located close to the shore with a pretty view over the ocean and onto close-by islands. Go around 15:30... More

The temple of Pachacamac is an archaeological site 40 km southeast of Lima, Peru in the Valley of the Lurín River. Most of the common buildings and temples were built c. 800-1450 CE, shortly before the arrival and conquest by the Inca Empire. To date, several pyramids have been uncovered; archaeologists have identified at least 17 pyramids. You should hie... More

Pachacamac was great but the only reason why I feel like I had a good experience here was due to my tour with Lima Mentor and our Tour Guide, Delia. Delia did an excelent job explaining the site to us. Delia has a degree in Archeology so her knowledge was vast in this subject. Without Lima Mentor, Pachacamac would have... More

Great site by the ocean. Guided tour was very instructive, with the restored sections the most interesting. The unrestored parts were, well, a heap of dirt. We enjoyed our visit and thought it was worthwhile.
