Some places in Peru can really underwhelm. This is a swamp area that acts as reservoir for Lima. Its surrounded by slums and strange, unfinished buildings. I don't know why people would visit its kind of depressing. They promote it as a bird-watching spot but the diversity of species is poor, and most of the birds there are quite common.

The Pantanos the Villa are a protected swamp area in the district of Chorrillos. There are different lagunas, many birds and it borders the ocean. Although crowded in by shantytowns it is luckily large enough to give the feeling of free green space and fresh air. You can do several walks here.
