This was a beautiful place to visit. The plaza just outside was lively and colorful, the convent itself was a beautiful place to see. Though it's undergoing some restoration efforts, it's clear that this building is an architectural gem with detail at every corner. It's a beautifully preserved piece of colonial Lima. more
This was easily my favorite place in Lima. The catacombs were as expected, fascinating in an icky sort of way. You wonder about whoever decided to arrange the bones...But the rest of the site was suprisingly interesting too. San Fransisco is a church with catacombs underneath and is morbidly fascinating. It was cool to see such old artwork (even if it wasn't especially well taken care of).
