This place is a good option for a good lunch. Good local food, specially the beef that is the most traditional. There are several restaurants inside, just choose the one you feel more confortable.

The place is interesting just for a short visit. The ancient building and the barbecue fireplaces are good to see but, be smart, go for lunch somewhere else! Located near the main port in Montevideo, the market is filled with shops, restaurants and bars, some of which spill out into the alley. The structure itself is a marvel. During the day the market is busy, but after 7:00pm, the market and surrounding area become deserted.
