it was a highlight of a day trip around the island the spot is amazing with the black sand and the surrounding view we met few of the locals surfing there and they have a lot of fun. we enjoyed the spot very much especially our teenagers.

Trou du Souffleur is a blowhole near a lovely black sand beach. It's different from other blowholes that I've seen, as instead of shooting a wide geyser of water it was shooting a narrow and focused jet of mist. It was a nice place to stop on one of our drives around the island of Tahiti-Nui.
There are four blowholes - three on the cliff face at the end of the viewing area and one above the old coast road. Enjoy a shower offered by mother nature, you come , you look at it and you get splashed
It probably depends on the sea conditions but this is worth stopping off at on a trip arouond the island. Very entertaining - and free!
Its great fun to watch, and there are surfers on the beach to entertain too! The noise and the spray are amazing when the pressure builds up.
Likely much better with a higher sea state. Really not much to see other than the coastline, grotto, lighthouse, and the Capt. Cook monument on the drive around the island. Go to another island for better coastlines, views, and far fewer people. Traffic is bad in the city.
The drive out to the "trou du souffleur" is quite nice. this is located on the east side of the island. Beautiful coastline, and worth the drive. I highly recomend to rent a car for a day and drive around Tahiti, its beautiful. DOn't let the rond point "round abouts" intomidate you, just stay on the outside lane when entering...
