Part of the fun of Sarajevo is the contrast between the different styles of the city. The Bascarsija (I can't pronounce anything in their language) is the old Turkish/Ottoman neighborhood and by far with the most character and tourists. Its like walking from an old European town straight to Istambul market.

I loved the little shops, the old bazar and the bars where you can smoke narghilè drinking turkish khava....The best is walking through the narrow road and lost yourself in the stream of people. A lot of youngs, beutiful girls and boys.
You really can have a breath of vitality. It seems impossible to believe there was a war just...

Although it is located in the old town it is actually the very heart of the city. Everything begins and end there. I always get special feeling when I walk through Bascarsija....
everything here is simply amazing.you feel like you live in past years.is the crossroad between east and west

Old town has it all. You can eat typical Bosnian food (or something else, if you choose), have a beer or two, buy something at bakery, shop some souvenirs, visit museums and places of interest (e.g. mosques and other churches) or just observe people. A great place to visit and spend a couple of hours in a nice, eastern-western atmosphere.
Bustling with life. This is the heart of Sarajevo. The old town with one-storey wooden buildings and cobbled streets. Each street is particular to a trade, one street just goldsmiths, another just brass rubbing, another cakes and coffee. An amazing place not to be missed.
Old town, built by Turkish Empire and reconstructed after war
